Captain Planet, Steve Irwin, and Batman were my childhood heroes, sparking an everlasting passion for activism, human rights, and environmental protection. My involvement in fundraising campaigns and school environment projects from primary school age further fuelled my drive to turn these passions into a career.
I wanted to be a superhero at age 5, a barrister at 10, a teacher at 14, a scientist at 17, a politician at 20, a conservation researcher at 22, a science communicator at 25, a policy analyst at 28, and everything combined in my 30s. One day I hope to be a person who can maintain a work-life balance.
Growing up with teachers for parents taught me the value of education, the joy of lifelong learning, and the importance of sharing information and ideas to change the world.
To paraphrase Martin Luther King: I can rarely stay silent about anything, but I refuse to stay silent about things that matter.
